Helena Christensen

Helena Christensen works as both a model and a photographer, describing the two practices as parallel parts of her creative life. Her photography also supports humanitarian storytelling. UNHCR appointed her a Goodwill Ambassador in 2019 after several years of collaboration. The agency documents her visits to Rwanda, Ukraine and Colombia, where she used photographs and personal accounts to bring attention to people forced to leave their homes.
